A Record-Breaking Week for @Carnival Cruise Line | NEXT Travel Stream

Carnival Cruise Lines says its full speed ahead. The cruise line just reported that the one-week period from March 28th to April 3rd was its busiest booking week in history…breaking the previous record by more than 10%. It’s another sign that travelers are ready to go after two years of being homebound. The record booking numbers nicely coincided with the company’s 50th birthday celebration. All but one of Carnival’s 23 ships are back in operation now across 10 US ports. Its final ship, Carnival Splendor, will return to service from Seattle on May 2nd, and they’ll welcome their newest ship, Carnival Celebration, to Port Miami in November. By year-end, Carnival will have more capacity than it was sailing in 2019. That’s quite a milestone for an industry that was on its back just a year ago. And Carnival’s not done. In 2023, they’ll introduce another new ship, Carnival Jubilee, that will sail from Galveston.

Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line stated "The excitement of the industry's restart, the successful return of our entire fleet, the guest reaction to Mardi Gras, our loyal guest response to our 50th birthday this year, the support of our travel advisor partners — and of course, the amazing work of our Carnival team — have all contributed to the strong demand and this record week". Duffy added that all sales channels, including Carnival.com, travel advisors, the Carnival guest contact center, and personal vacation planners all contributed to the surge in bookings.
