Norway is building Rogfast, a massive road tunnel beneath the Boknafjord.
Stretching nearly 27 kilometers and reaching almost 390 meters below sea level, Rogfast is designed to become the world’s longest and deepest subsea road tunnel.
Engineers are drilling and blasting through solid rock beneath the sea, building underground connections, ventilation systems, and access to the island of Kvitsøy.
When completed, drivers will be able to cross beneath the fjord without waiting for a ferry.
