Tensions are rising between Russia and Norway amid the ongoing war in Ukraine. The Russian embassy in Oslo slammed what it called Norway’s “spy mania”. Russia’s response came after Oslo said it arrested a suspected Russian sleeper cell agent. Norway has arrested at least 10 Russian nationals for either carrying or illegally flying drones over critical areas. Norwegian authorities suspect that many of these Russians, claiming to be tourists, used drones to film critical infrastructure. These allegations were backed by Norwegian energy workers who said they saw drones buzz around the gas platforms in the North Sea.
