Norwegian Aura: HUGE Changes Coming to NCL’s Newest Ship!

Norwegian Aura is finally here! While Norwegian Cruise Line officially launches Norwegian Aura in 2027, we're giving you a comprehensive look at the newest Prima-class ship. We've analyzed Norwegian Aura deck plans, renderings, dining venues, bars, entertainment, outdoor spaces, The Haven, staterooms, Mandara Spa and more to uncover what's changing from Norwegian Prima, Viva, Aqua, and Luna. So come check out what we're calling Norwegian's first Prima Plus Plus class ship!

With the larger ship, Norwegian is introducing dozens of changes across Norwegian Aura. We’ve spent hours combing through Norwegian Aura deck plans and digging deep into Norwegian’s renderings to uncover even more changes coming to the ship. Our goal: give you the most comprehensive look at the new ship!

One of the biggest changes Norwegian is making: They are DOUBLING the size of the Norwegian Aura buffet! To address one of the largest complaints that cruisers have about the Prima and Prima-Plus class of ships, the cruise line has removed popular venues Sukhothai and Palomar to make way for a significantly expanded Surfside Cafe.

But the buffet change kicks off a whole set of dominoes across the rest of the ship in terms of relocated spaces. Palomar moves to the Atrium, Onda moves to the gift shops, Le Bistro moves and Sukhothai takes its space. The line is also ripping out Starbucks from the port side of the ship. Guest Services moves. Shore Excursions moves. CruiseNext moves. And Syd Norman’s is completely gone in favor of the new Off Key.

These are just a handful of the changes covered in our latest update. There are literally dozens of updates, including multiple new bars and entertainment on board. And to think, we haven’t even talked about all the changes coming to the top deck!

NCL Aura will have Norwegian Cruise Line’s largest pool deck to date. Plus, Norwegian is introducing the new Ocean Heights amusement complex that will span the uppermost decks. With new waterslides, mat racers, and an 82-foot ropes course, this space promises thrills for kids and kids at heart!

Speaking of activities for families, Norwegian Aura completely reconfigures the front of deck 8. In what was previously underutilized space on sister ships, NCL is adding a bunch of additional things for children and families.

If your idea of entertainment is spending time relaxing away from it all, you’re in luck! The Norwegian Aura Mandara Spa is PACKED with updates. Norwegian promises 11 new experiences and we’re covering them all. Complete with a new simulated thunderstorm!
