Orkney, a Scottish archipelago with a population of about 22,000, is considering divorcing the United Kingdom to become a self-governing territory. It’s also looking to expand its links with Norway.

This comes after Scotland almost voted to leave the UK in 2014, and after Brexit saw the UK split with the European Union in 2020.
