The Norwegian crusade marks the first time a European king personally went to the holy land. King Sigurd was already a hardened battle veteran having spent a lot of his teen years fighting in Ireland and the Scottish Isles with his father Magnus Strife Lover, even being named King of the Isles, which consisted of the Isles of Man, and the Hebrides. Sigurd would eventually take the fight to Middle East sparking the Norwegian Crusade. But who was Sigurd the Crusader? This is his story.
