Cruising is set to return in all parts of the world for 2021 with a host of new cruise ships and revitalizations. We review the top 10 best new cruise ships for 2021 to help with your cruise vacation planning.

Carnival Mardi Gras was set to debut in the fall of 2020. Now, Carnival Cruise Line's largest ship to date is scheduled to set sail in February 2021. The ship will feature a unique zone concept, with brand new dining and nightlife. Among the innovative new features is Bolt, the first roller-coaster at sea.

Virgin Voyage’s Scarlet Lady cruise ship also tops our list of best cruise ships for 2021. Including basic WiFi, all dining, including specialty restaurants, as well as most non-alcoholic beverages, the cruise line is looking to compete with premium cruise lines. Scarlet Lady will also call on the line’s new private resort, the Beach Club at Bimini in the Bahamas once cruising resumes.

Celebrity Apex is also on the list of best cruise ships for 2021. Featuring many of the same amenities and venues as its sister ship, including four main dining rooms, each featuring signature menu selections, the resort pool, the Rooftop Garden, and the dynamic Eden.

Royal Caribbean’s Odyssey of the Seas contains many of the cruise line’s most popular venues all on one ship, so it's no wonder why it's one of the best ships for 2021. Among them are the SeaPlex, the SkyPad, Ripcord by iFly, and the North Star. There are also several dining options and lively entertainment.

Princess Cruises' newest ship, Enchanted Princess, is the fifth Royal-Class ship and will feature the most pools ever on a Princess Cruises' vessel. It will also be home to some of the line's most popular dining and entertainment. With the only jazz theater at sea, along with several other bars and lounges, there will never be a dull moment on the ship.

Viking Venus tops our list of the best new cruise ships for 2021 as well. The vessel will be similar in design and layout to its six sister ships. These luxury vessels offer destination focused voyages to some of the most iconic ports of call. Cruises on this ship include WiFi, all dining, including specialty restaurants, beer and wine at meals, and access to the thermal suite.

MSC Virtuosa will be the second Meraviglia-Plus class ship and will be home to a variety of dining and entertainment venues. The outdoor decks will feature the line’s most immersive water park, as well as several themed-pool areas. Indoors, there will be F1 race simulators, virtual reality rides and experiences, a sports court, as well as two signature Cirque du Soliel shows.

The "new" Norwegian Spirit underwent a $100 million renovation. The ship received upgrades to its cabins, public spaces, and dining venues. A brand new Onda by Scarpetta, Italian restaurant was added to the ship as well as a new complimentary main dining room and the casual The Local pub. The ship will offer Mediterranean and Greek Isles cruises in 2021.

Carnival Radiance will offer short, Mexican Riviera cruises from Long Beach, CA in 2021. This ship received a bow to stern makeover and a new name. These upgrades include a new Shaq's Big Chicken, improved cabins, and the Cucina del Capitano Italian specialty restaurant. The ship also received a new Limelight Lounge and will welcome the cruise line’s signature Playlist production shows.

Finally, American Jazz is American Cruise Lines' latest modern river cruise ship. The ship includes the largest cabins in the industry and a multi-story atrium, as well as first-class dining and a nightly cocktail hour. The dining and ashore experiences are custom tailored for each itinerary to offer a uniquely American cruise experience while sailing the iconic Mississippi River.
