The White House announced a new, $800M U.S. military aid package for Ukraine on Friday, to support their counteroffensive efforts against Russia.

Among the hundreds of thousands of military supplies, cluster munitions were confirmed to be included in the package, despite controversy and humanitarian concerns associated with them.

Acknowledging concerns on Friday, a Pentagon official stated his confidence in the effectiveness of the U.S.'s munitions, reiterating Ukraine’s “written” commitment to post-conflict demining efforts to mitigate any potential harm to Russian civilians.
