People often hate on Snape, and that is reasonable to an extent because Snape is a very "bad" character, but I don't get how people can just ignore the fact that the Marauders bullied Slytherins for no reason. That, or they portray them as the worst type of human beings possible while Snape is a little UWU bean. No.

Snape is a bad character that obsesses over a dead, married woman with a child. Bullies said child because he is also the son of his bully. No matter what, Severus Snape is not a "good" character, he is grey at best.

James Potter and Sirius Black are also not completely "good" characters. They see themselves as heroes and take it upon themselves to punish who they see as villains. They decide who the villains are by their political standings and Hogwarts houses, both of which are not good distinguishing factors of a villain. They make poor decisions and play cruel "pranks" for fun. They fight for the good side, but that does not make them much better people when they bully children.

Please understand that the characters in the Harry Potter franchise are complicated characters.
