Meloni: “Very, Very Important” | Backs Canada, Norway For Europe’s Stronger Security Role

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni backs stronger cooperation with Norway and Canada as Europe examines its wider security strategy. Speaking alongside Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in Oslo, Meloni said it is “very, very important” to strengthen cooperation with reliable partners while avoiding duplication of NATO or UN structures. The talks also covered Ukraine, Iran, Hormuz, the Red Sea, energy security, critical minerals, defence and underwater technology as Italy and Norway seek deeper strategic and industrial cooperation.
