US and UK M270 launchers arrive at the Poland-Ukraine border

Defense Secretary Ben Wallace announced that the UK has delivered the M270 launcher, which can engage targets up to 80 km away with precision-guided rockets.

The UK is the second largest provider of military aid to Ukraine in 2022 after the US with £2.3 billion ($2.78 billion) already provided to Kyiv.

This time the UK has provided a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) to Ukraine to help defend against Russian aggression.

The M270 advanced weapons system, which can engage targets up to a distance of 80 km with pinpoint accuracy, is a significant capability upgrade for the Ukrainian forces.

The UK's decision has been in close coordination with the US's decision to award the MLRS High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) variant.

In addition to the weapons systems, the UK will also supply M31A1 ammunition on a large scale.
